Celtic Whiskey Shop, as Ireland's premier whiskey shop based in Dublin, have been a client of ours since 2004. This year, after considering feedback from customers, Celtic Whiskey Shop asked us to create a new programming structure for the web site.

Our design brief was to make it easier for clients to navigate through to the specific brands and distilleries that they were interested in, and to enable the team at CWS to highlight products that they felt would be of particular interest to their customers.

We started by restructuring the heirarchy to make it easier to find products based on the category and distillery from which they are sourced.

Through the judicious use of AJAX and dynamic html we were able to quickly display subsets of the huge catalogue that Celtic Whiskey Shop are famous for.

In addition, CWS wished to make better use of social networking and started by presenting their Twitter feed on their web site, this makes it easier for customers to stay in touch with developments and new offerings as they become available.

The new look site was activated at the end of November 2009 and we used Spinnaker Pro's awarding winning newsletter management software to create a mailshot to registered customers, letting them know about the site and informing them of a few special products that CWS had sourced.

The response to this initial mailshot was overwhelming, over 3000 customers visited the site and we immediately began to gather high quality feedback on what customers felt was good and what could be improved.

We continue to work with the team at Celtic Whiskey Shop and wish them every success with the new site.
